Milford Howell Wolpoff [b. 1942]

106 71

American paleontologist Milford Wolpoff is most closely associated with the Multiregional Hypothesis of human origins, arguing that Homo sapiens evolved from H. erectus not once but several times in many places around the world. The opposing view, argued by paleontologists such as Chris Stringer, is that human evolution occurred once, in Africa (the out of Africa theory). Wolpoff is associated with the University of Michigan Museum of Anthropology.
